App Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 15, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Janus Works LLC collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile apps, including our Bible, devotional, and scripture-based apps, unless a product-specific policy says otherwise.
Our apps are designed to be simple and private by default. Most reading, listening, settings, and reminder data stays on your device. We do not require you to create an account just to use the app, and we do not sell your personal information.
2. Information We Collect
- On-device app data. We may store preferences, favorites, reminder settings, recent reading state, and similar app data locally on your device so the app works as expected.
- Limited analytics and diagnostics. We may collect app interaction data, screen views, feature usage, app version, device model, operating system, coarse identifiers, and crash or performance data to understand usage and improve reliability.
- Information you choose to send us. If you contact us by email or through a support form, we receive the information you include in your message.
We do not ask for your name, contacts, photos, precise location, or payment card details just to read or listen in the app.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide the app's core reading, listening, and reminder features
- Understand which features are useful and improve the app experience
- Diagnose crashes, bugs, and performance issues
- Respond to support requests and privacy inquiries
- Comply with legal obligations and protect against abuse or fraud
4. When We Share Information
We share information only when needed to operate the app or comply with the law. For example, we may share limited data with:
- Analytics and diagnostics providers that help us measure usage and fix issues
- Platform providers such as Apple or Google when required to distribute the app
- Authorities or advisors when disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights and safety
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share your data for third-party advertising.
5. Data Retention
We retain data only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy. Our retention practices are:
| Data type | Examples | How long we keep it | What happens after |
|---|---|---|---|
| On-device app data | Preferences, favorites, reminder settings, recent reading state, and similar app settings stored locally on your device. | Kept on your device until you delete the data, clear app storage, or uninstall the app. | Removed when the app data is cleared or the app is uninstalled. |
| Analytics data | Screen views, app interactions, feature usage, app version, device model, operating system, and similar usage signals. | Retained for up to 14 months. | Deleted or aggregated after the retention period. |
| Crash and diagnostics data | Crash logs, error reports, and app performance diagnostics used to fix bugs and improve stability. | Retained for up to 90 days. | Removed after the retention period or during routine backup cleanup. |
| Support messages | Emails or messages you send us if you ask for help or contact us about the app. | Retained for up to 12 months after the last message. | Deleted unless we need to keep a limited record for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons. |
In limited cases, we may keep certain records longer if that is reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, resolving disputes, enforcing our rights, or complying with legal obligations.
6. Your Choices
- You can stop using the app at any time.
- You can remove locally stored app data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app.
- You can manage notification permissions through your device settings.
- You can contact us if you want to ask about your data or request deletion of information you sent directly to us.
Because our apps generally do not require user accounts, there is usually no separate account-deletion workflow. If you need help with a privacy request, contact us and we will review it.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we process. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to limit access, use reputable service providers, and keep data collection narrow.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and post the revised version here.
